Earth Hour 2009

Earth Hour

So Earth Hour organized by the World Wildlife Fund is over for another 364 days, but it was a HUGE success with over 50 million people taking part (even though it was hoped 1 billion people would take part!) and switching off for a complete hour. Also for the first time this year, the U.N. headquarters in NYC took part.

It first began in 2007 in Sydney where 2.2 million residents took part and then received international attraction by 2008. The idea is to highlight the threat from climate change and rising greenhouse emissions. I most definitely plan to take part next year.  See you there!
